Mania in art

Jesse Black

Jesse Black is an artist living in Long Beach California. He is influenced and inspired by many different artists and musicians including David Choe, Banksy, Charles Bukowski and Tom Waits.  He uses multiple techniques and media to create art.  Sometimes he limits the pallet to one or two colors and uses a variety of canvasses including fences and discarded doors.  Other times he will paint larger than life painting using the entire spectrum of color.  His paintings are chaotic, busy, and undeniably beautiful.

My brother committed suicide by overdosing on heroin in a bath tub about 15 years ago. To beat the angst, I shot this picture of my girlfriend. Note, the letter on the floor is the exact one he wrote to me the night he killed himself. Might be a little racy but it’s truthful!
